General Information
The City of Glenburn asks the following of our citizens of Glenburn:
-when mowing your lawn, please make sure not to blow the grass cutting onto the roads as it stops the flow of rain water down the curbs and it is also a breeding habitat for mosquitoes and other insects.
-when snow blowing or having your driveway cleared out, please make sure not to put the snow into the street or onto any other property but your own.
-if you have a fire hydrant on your property - please make sure that it is kept clean from debirs and snow, so that there is a clear access to it from the fire department.
Dumpsters Use for our citizens of Glenburn:
-we have a compost dumpster on Seaton Street for grass cuttings, leaves and small amounts of garden waste no bags allowed - no big branches or other garbage
-we get a clean out dumpster twice a year, this is for everyone's use, so please be considerate of others in the City. No sheds or demolition of large projects or building material. Contact Earth Recycling or Circle Sanitation to see what they charge to pick up.
- on your weekly garbage, if you have a large amount, contact Circle Sanitation to have them do an extra pick up, which there will be a fee for.
Our sewer system
The following is a list that does great harm to our sewer system, we ask that you refrain from flushing these down the toilets or dumping down the drains. Thank you
-papertowels
-shop rags/or any other type of rags
-cleaning rags, pads or wipes
-disinfecting wipes
-baby wipes/hygiene wipes/makeup wipes (these are not flushable)
-kleenex (especially if they have lotion in them)
-feminine products
-grease, oils, fat solids
-for toilet paper - there are some brands that do not dissolve very well, we suggest you use the water test, if it breaks apart easily then it is better for the sewer system, if it does not, then it is not good for the system as it blocks it up.
